Traveling While Black In-Person
Join College Ombudsman Derrick Johnson for a discussion of his experiences traveling while black, and the story of his father’s traffic stop the night of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. Afterwards, attendees can use the LLC’s Virtual Reality headsets to try Traveling While Black, a cinematic experience that immerses the viewer in the long history of restriction of movement for black Americans and the creation of safe spaces in our communities.
