Born in Flames: FSCJ’s Origins in a Time of Tumult Online
When FSCJ first opened its doors in 1966, the U.S. was at war in Vietnam, Duval County was unconsolidated and local schools were at the front lines of the Civil Rights struggle. In honor of the College’s 60th anniversary, FSCJ’s Library and Tutoring Services and history professor Scott Matthews offer an examination of the local, state and national context into which the College was born.
